The Very Best of the Best Hotels Found in New York

Discovering a good hotel when you’re on a journey in New York City isn’t often quick, mainly because you have so much choice! Certainly, you can opt for something out of the same New York travel guide which everybody and their cousin has checked for the past 5 years, but that doesn’t suggest you are going to have a very positive experience (in truth, it may virtually promise a dreadful one!). Alternatively, it’s actually a good idea to do a touch of research, using your pal the Web. Locals will invariably know the perfect hotels in their own city, what the best accommodations are, and the most popular months to visit their favourite parts of the city. Nevertheless, you ought not be going up to anybody you meet in the airport terminal in New York, demanding their tips. So instead, we’ve produced a quick list of our 3 favorite hotels in New York for you. These are the ones we would suggest to our good friends when they come to visit – but because we do not want you to believe we’re simply being biased, listed here are the opinions from Yelp.com:

1. Four Seasons Hotel New York

You can’t go wrong when staying at the Four Seasons. The midtown Manhattan one is one of my favorites! Great location — yes, just steps away from some of the best department stores in the city (think Bergdorf Goodman, Henri Bendel and Barneys New York)!

Spacious room and a huge bathroom (and there’s even a tv so you can watch your favorite show while taking a nice bubble bath). I absolutely love the closet space too — built in drawers and shelves. A+ for service and decor!

2. Distrikt Hotel
342 W 40th St
(between 8th Ave & 9th Ave)
New York, NY 10018
Neighborhoods: Hell’s Kitchen, Theater District, Midtown West
(888) 444-5610

Yes, yes, yes.

Honestly, I chose to stay here based on location, as I wanted to walk to a meeting the next morning nearby. Lucky me, this boutique hotel was more than I expected. Modern design, spic and span throughout, FREE wifi (one of my pet peeves is hotels charging), comfy bed.

Price is more than right. Next time in the city, I’ll be here.

To those yelpers calling this a “sketchy” area, you’re kidding, right?

- Mark B. (Cape Cod, MA)

3. Hilton Garden Inn New York/West 35th Street
63 W 35th St
(between 5th Ave & Avenue Of The Americas)
New York, NY 10001
Neighborhood: Midtown West
(212) 594-3310

Had an excellent stay at this great property. I am already a fan of the HGI brand, this is a super hotel in a great location.

Friendly and helpful staff. Views of the Empire State Building were amazing. Subway station right in front of the hotel. Short walk or subway ride to everything.

Parking is across the street and is billed by the hotel.

- Rich R. (Poughkeepsie, NY)
